Kaikondrahalli Lake
Kaikondrahalli Lake is a nationally recognized model of community-driven lake restoration in Bangalore. Restored from a sewage-contaminated water body to a thriving ecosystem through citizen participation and NGO support, the lake now features a curated flora trail with labelled native plant species, bird-watching platforms, and well-maintained walking paths. The lake has become home to over 50 bird species including kingfishers, egrets, and painted storks. The restoration project, led by the Kaikondrahalli Lake Trust, has been documented as a case study in urban water body conservation. The surrounding community actively participates in maintenance and monitoring, making it one of the cleanest and best-maintained lakes in the Sarjapur Road corridor.
