Horanadu Annaporneshwari Temple

The Annaporneshwari Temple at Horanadu is dedicated to Goddess Annaporneshwari, the Goddess of Food. True to its name, the temple provides free meals (Annadana) to every visitor — an act of devotion that feeds thousands daily. Located deep in the coffee-growing region of Chikmagalur district, the drive itself through winding ghat roads flanked by coffee and cardamom plantations is a major attraction. The temple was renovated in the 1970s and has since grown into one of Karnataka's most visited pilgrimage sites. The surrounding Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary and coffee estates make it ideal for combining spiritual and nature tourism.
