About the Waterfall
Chelavara Falls is a powerful monsoon waterfall located in the southern part of Coorg, near Cheyyandane village. During peak monsoon, the falls are thunderous and create a dramatic spray. However, increasing fatalities have led to permanent closures or restricted access at the base. The viewpoint from above still provides impressive views. The falls dry up significantly by February, making this a strictly monsoon destination. Best combined with other Coorg attractions like Dubare and Nisargadhama.
