Hesaraghatta Lake
Hesaraghatta Lake, located on the northern outskirts of Bangalore, is a unique landscape of expansive dry grasslands and a seasonal water body. The grasslands, which emerge as the lake bed dries, create a savanna-like environment that is strikingly different from Bangalore's typical green spaces. The area is a significant birding destination, particularly for grassland species like harriers, larks, and pipits that are rarely seen elsewhere near the city. Photographers are drawn to the dramatic landscapes, especially during golden hour when the vast open spaces create spectacular light conditions. The Nrityagram Dance Village and Hesaraghatta Grasslands combine to make this a unique destination for those willing to venture to the city's periphery.
