About Devarayanadurga
Devarayanadurga is a rocky granite hill fortress located in Tumkur district, crowned by two ancient temples — the Yoga Narasimhaswamy Temple at the summit and the Bhoga Narasimhaswamy Temple partway up. The hill is surrounded by the Devarayanadurga State Forest, a dry deciduous woodland that is home to deer, peacocks, and various bird species. A natural spring called Namada Chilume, believed to have been created by Lord Rama, adds a mythological dimension. The trek from the base passes through forest trails and stone steps, with the fort walls and bastions visible along the route.
