Ramanagara

Ramanagara is a cluster of massive granite hills immortalized as the filming location of the Bollywood classic 'Sholay.' The rocky outcrops — including Ramadevara Betta, Sidi Betta, and Revanna Siddeshwara Betta — offer some of the best rock climbing and rappelling in South India, attracting both beginners and experienced climbers. The town is also the largest raw silk market in Asia, earning it the moniker 'Silk Town.' The Ramadevara Betta is home to a vulture conservation area protecting the endangered long-billed vulture, and the hilltop temple offers panoramic views of the surrounding terrain.
