About Mullayanagiri
Mullayanagiri is the crown jewel of Karnataka's peaks, standing at 1930 metres as the state's highest point in the Baba Budan Giri range near Chikmagalur. The trek to the summit begins from the motorable road end and involves climbing roughly 500 stone steps through shola grasslands and rocky terrain. At the peak sits a small Shiva temple, and on clear days the views extend across the entire Western Ghats ridgeline. During monsoon, the peak is often shrouded in fast-moving clouds, creating a dramatic walk-through-clouds experience. The trail can be combined with visits to nearby Baba Budangiri and Deviramma Peak.
