About Yercaud
Yercaud is a quiet hill station in the Shevaroy Hills of Tamil Nadu's Eastern Ghats, often called the 'Poor Man's Ooty' for its similar charm at a fraction of the crowd and cost. The centerpiece is Yercaud Lake (Emerald Lake), surrounded by gardens and offering pedal boating. The Shevaroy Temple atop the highest point, coffee and orange groves, Bear's Cave, Lady's Seat viewpoint, and the Botanical Garden are key attractions. The 20-hairpin-bend ghat road itself is a scenic experience, winding through dense forest with occasional valley views.
