About the Waterfall
Thottikallu Falls, popularly known as 'TK Falls' or 'Swarna Mukhi Falls' (meaning Golden-Faced), is located approximately 33 kilometres from the city via Kanakapura Road. The name derives from the visual phenomenon where the rising sun illuminates the cascading water with a golden hue. The waterfall is formed by the Swarna Mukhi stream, a tributary of the Arkavati River. The terrain is slippery and steep, requiring appropriate footwear for a 2-kilometre trek from the entrance. Access can be restricted during peak monsoon weekends due to safety concerns.
