About Bannerghatta Biological Park
Bannerghatta Biological Park sits on the southern edge of Bangalore city, making it the most accessible wildlife experience from the city. The park operates a Grand Safari on large enclosed buses that drive through dedicated zones housing lions, tigers, bears, and herbivores in semi-wild enclosures. While not a wilderness safari, it offers reliable big cat sightings and is especially popular with families and first-time wildlife visitors. The adjacent butterfly park — India's first — features a stunning free-flight dome where hundreds of tropical butterflies can be observed up close. The broader Bannerghatta National Park (the surrounding forest block) is a protected area with actual wild leopards and elephants, though public access to the national park is limited. The biological park section includes a zoo, a museum, and rescue centers.
