JP Park (Jayaprakash Narayan Biodiversity Park)
Jayaprakash Narayan Biodiversity Park, commonly known as JP Park, is an 85-acre green expanse in Mathikere that uniquely blends biodiversity conservation with family entertainment. The park's centrepiece is the Nakshatra Vana — zodiac-themed groves where each section features plants associated with the 27 nakshatras (lunar mansions) of Hindu astrology. The weekend musical fountain show draws large crowds with its choreographed water, light, and music performance. A sprawling rock garden inspired by Chandigarh's famous creation adds an artistic dimension, while dedicated biodiversity zones preserve native plant species. The park includes a children's play area, jogging tracks, and well-maintained lawns for picnics. As one of Bangalore's largest free public parks, JP Park serves as an important recreational space for North Bangalore residents.
