Ulsoor Lake
Ulsoor Lake (also known as Halasuru Lake) is a 123-acre historic lake in East Bangalore, believed to have been built during the Kempegowda era in the 16th century. The lake features several small islands, one of which houses a beautiful temple accessible by boat. The boating facility, managed by KSTDC, offers pedal boats and rowing boats for a serene experience on the water. The surrounding park has well-paved walking paths, a children's playground, and open lawns. From October to February, the lake attracts migratory birds including painted storks, spot-billed pelicans, and various species of ducks, making it a birding hotspot in the city centre. The lake's proximity to MG Road and the commercial district makes it a popular after-work escape for IT professionals and residents alike.
