About the Waterfall
Abbey Falls is located just 8 kilometres from Madikeri, famously situated within private coffee and spice plantations. The waterfall cascades approximately 70 feet into a tributary of the Kaveri. Historically known as 'Jessie Falls' by the British, it was rediscovered post-independence. A hanging bridge spans the gorge providing an elevated viewing platform. Bathing is strictly prohibited due to strong undercurrents and deep pools. The primary appeal is the sensory blend of rushing water with the aroma of coffee and pepper vines.
